Christopher Long is a Managing Partner at Intentional Wealth Strategies, an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and a Chartered Financial Analyst, Chris co-founded Intentional Wealth Strategies in 2018, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the firm.

Chris specializes in retirement planning and investment management, offering a tailored, institutional-style approach to meet the unique needs of affluent individuals and select organizations. His focus on tax-efficient strategies and personalized goals-based wealth management sets him apart in the industry. Prior to founding Intentional Wealth Strategies, Chris gained extensive experience at top-tier institutions, including Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Charles Schwab & Co., and Ameriprise Financial, where he held various key positions such as vice president, investment manager, financial consultant and planner, portfolio consultant, and trading consultant.

Chris is known for his ability to simplify complex financial concepts, making them accessible to his clients. His commitment to integrity, passion, and diligence has earned him a reputation as a trusted advisor.

Beyond his professional achievements, Chris is deeply committed to community service. He has contributed significantly through volunteering with organizations like Fort Lewis College, where he helped establish the institution's investment advisory committee. He also served as the Chair of both the El Paso County Retirement Board and the Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber, The Concilio. In addition, he was a committee member for the Investment Advisory Committee for the city of Colorado Springs. Chris currently serves as the Colorado Springs liaison to the CFA Society Colorado and is an active member of the Financial Planning Association of Southern Colorado. In the past, he also taught financial literacy to high school students through the League of United Latin American Citizens' Upward Bound program.

Chris holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Metropolitan State University of Denver, where he graduated with honors. He is also proud to hold the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, one of the highest distinctions in the investment management profession.

Originally from Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Chris now resides in Colorado Springs with his wife, Jill, and their son, Derek. Outside of his professional life, Chris enjoys literature, cooking cherished family recipes, fly-fishing, camping, and passionately cheering for his favorite baseball team, the Colorado Rockies.
